Middle School Support Group

C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H. Counseling is offering an eight week group for trans & genderqueer middle schoolers. This group is a space for members to come together to explore gender and identity, and to build community with one another along the way. This group will help members foster connections and create a safe and creative space to have conversations about gender, coming out, and transition.

Group Description

This weekly group for middle schoolers is a place where members engage in lively discussion about identity, gender, transition. Topics we will explore include:

  • Exploring gender identity

  • Navigating gender expression

  • Coming out processes

  • Building supportive relationships

Group Details

  • This group for middle school aged youth meets weekly on Thursdays from 5:00pm-6:30pm

  • Our group space is at C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H. Counseling’s office in Gresham: SE 182nd Ave and NW Division St.

  • This group will run for 8 weeks and is currently accepting new members.

  • The group is covered by Aetna, BCBS, and Moda, and by some Providence and OHP Plans. For private pay clients, the fee is $55/session.

  • We will cap this group at 8 members to make sure there is enough space for everyone.

About the Facilitator

Liz Rado CSWA (she/her) has been working with kids, teens, and their families since 2021. She offers therapy based on the idea that we heal in relationship to others, and incorporates techniques from a variety of theories and models based on the needs of the unique individuals she is working with. Liz specializes in working with LGBTQ+ clients and with teens. She is excited to be offering this group space for youth to come together in community.
